Endometriosis in the Groin Area with Inguinal Hernia in the Woman

Abstract
Endometriosis is gynecologic disease that endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It is occurring in 7% to 10% of reproductive age and causing chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea and infertility. The common site of endometriosis is pelvic cavity but can occur in extrapelvic site and unusual symptoms and diagnostic dilemmas. In this report, we presented a case of endometriosis of the round ligament in a 32-year-old women. She was referred with a 2-year history of right-side lump and pain in her inguinal region changing in size particularly during mensturation. After sono-guided biopsy, it was confirmed to endometriosis. Surgical excision of the mass was carried out and 2¡¿5 cm sized lump was detached in round ligament with inguinal hernia. The Bassini operation was performed. We concluded that endometriosis must be considered in the differential diagnosis palpable lesions of the groin in women of reproductive age.
